On 9 October, we are hosting our Horti Health Event at the World Horti Center. This festive and inspiring gathering marks the kick-off of our new themed area: Health. The program includes presentations and discussions with, among others, “nutrition visionary” Rob Baan and Anko Goudswaard, alderman of the Municipality of Westland.
Following this, in collaboration with De Week van Ons Eten, The National Food Quiz will take place. In short, an event with a healthy mix of knowledge sharing and inspiration that you won’t want to miss! Read on below to learn more about the Health Area and the program on 9 October.
Globally, horticulture plays a crucial role in promoting health and well-being, and we believe it’s high time to share this message more widely together. Alongside our partners, the Health Area highlights the benefits of healthy nutrition and a green living environment. The area contributes to:
Knowledge sharing and innovation, by connecting diverse groups—including research, education, entrepreneurs, and government
Collaboration and awareness within and beyond the sector, including healthcare, (top-level) sports, and retail
Partners have the opportunity to tell their story on a large screen via a video. They also contribute to the development of the area and its programming. We are excited to welcome our first early adopters. Would you like your company to be part of the Health Area? We’d love to talk to you!
The kick-off of our Health Area on 9 October features presentations from, among others, Rob Baan and Anko Goudswaard. Rob Baan’s fresh and insightful perspective on the food industry makes him a unique and valuable expert in food and health. The owner of Koppert Cress is a man on a mission: “Let’s look at fresh food and health in a different way.”
Anko Goudswaard has been an alderman at the Municipality of Westland since 2022. His portfolio includes Sport, Education, Events, and Communication. In his role, he is involved in the growth and development of Flora Campus Westland, with a strong focus on the theme of “Health.”
In addition to the Health Area opening, the National Food Quiz will take place on 9 October at the World Horti Center. Enthusiastic teams will participate live from WHC as well as via the online broadcast. Test your knowledge and discover the science behind our food! The quiz will be hosted by Roxana van der Meulen, with support from food experts Andrea Stavenuiter, Jaap Bond, and Kees de Gooijer.
