On Thursday, November 28, Thierry Desot, Professor of Applied Natural Language Processing at the Creating010 knowledge center (Hogeschool Rotterdam), will give his public lecture. We invite you to attend.

In healthcare, AI offers enormous opportunities but also significant challenges. Deep learning systems, such as the models behind ChatGPT, often function as a 'black box,' where the path from input to output remains opaque. This lack of transparency understandably creates distrust among users, particularly in sectors like healthcare, where trust and accuracy are of vital importance.

During this public lecture, Thierry Desot will explain how AI and natural language processing (NLP) can be responsibly used to support the medical sector, with special attention to the risks of incorrect diagnoses and the ethical implications of bias in language models.

Thierry Desot combines his expertise in deep learning with a strong focus on social impact. His current research is centered on the ethical use of AI in healthcare, particularly by identifying and addressing bias in language models.
