A look ahead to the Medical Delta Conference on the 15th of November

‘De Hooglandse Kerk’ in Leiden will be the location of the Medical Delta Conference 2022 on Tuesday afternoon, November 15, from 12:30 to 18:00. During the Conference, eight new Medical Delta professors will be inaugurated, there will be an interesting afternoon program on technology as a game changer in healthcare and healthcare technology innovations can be experienced at the interactive demo market.

With Leiden City of Science 2022, it is only logical that the Medical Delta Conference will also be held in Leiden this year. 'Gamechangers' is the daily theme of Leiden 2022 and this is also the recurring theme throughout the program of the Conference.

Technology as a gamechanger for healthcare

How can technology be a gamechanger for our healthcare system? This is one of the questions that microbiologist, writer and NRC columnist Rosanne Hertzberger discusses in her keynote during the first part of the Conference. With stimulating statements and striking insights, she takes the audience through her vision.

With three short pitches, the audience is challenged to think along about game changing possibilities at the intersection of technology and health. How can we look at recovery and health differently outside hospital walls? And how can we make health care permanently sustainable? Plenty to talk about during the high tea amid the interactive demo market full of game changing innovations.

Inauguration of eight new Medical Delta professors

In the second part of the program, the official and simultaneous inauguration of eight new Medical Delta professors will take place. With their appointment as 'Medical Delta professors', they combine at least two appointments at Leiden University, LUMC, TU Delft, Erasmus University and/or Erasmus MC.

With their dual appointments and with their research, they bring technology and healthcare closer together and are ambassadors for intensified cooperation between different disciplines. During the Conference, the new professors each present the potential impact of their research in a short video and answer stimulating questions from young scientists.

Networking and experiencing innovations

During the closing networking event, scientists, companies, healthcare organizations and governments, working together in the field of health and technology, will meet. The interactive demo market will also be open once again.
