Kansen voor West 3 is making an additional €500,000 available for innovation projects through the ZorgTech innovation program. The voucher scheme is intended for SMEs with a technological innovation for the healthcare sector. A connection with the province of Zuid-Holland is required.

The call gives SMEs the opportunity to receive up to €50,000 in funding for the development and testing of their solutions. Applications for these vouchers can be submitted until April 1, 2026. Projects must be completed no later than May 31, 2027.

The ZorgTech innovation program is a long-term initiative by the Province of Zuid-Holland, the Metropolitan Region Rotterdam The Hague, TNO, InnovationQuarter, and Medical Delta. Over the past five years, around 50 consortia have been able to advance their healthcare innovations with support from ZorgTech.

Conditions and selection criteria

To be eligible for the voucher scheme, the following conditions and selection criteria apply:

  • Fit within the ZorgTech innovation program: technological solutions for the treatment, monitoring, prevention, and alleviation of diseases; maintaining accessibility and manageability of healthcare; replacing, preventing, and/or relocating care; confidence in the technological and economic feasibility of the solution.

  • Added value for Zuid-Holland: relevance to the ecosystem, contribution to healthcare in Zuid-Holland, and expected growth of the company.

  • Project quality: quality of the application, project feasibility, composition of the project team, and a realistic budget.

Fieldlab testing or real-life testing

In this call, vouchers can be requested for developing and testing an innovation in a fieldlab or living lab environment (fieldlab testing) or in a real-world healthcare setting (real-life testing). Together with a fieldlab, living lab, and/or healthcare organization, a project consortium can be formed and a project plan submitted. A working prototype of the innovation must be available at minimum.

Applying for a voucher

On the ZorgTech program page, interested parties can register for a voucher via the intake form. In this form, you describe your innovation in a maximum of 300 words. After that, members of the innovation program will contact you for an intake meeting. During this intake, you will meet one of the program team members, introduce your company and project idea, the program team will help think about potential project partners, and together you will explore whether your idea fits within the voucher scheme or whether other steps would be more appropriate. If your project is found to be a good fit, you can proceed with submitting your application. Throughout this process, the program team is available to provide support.
