Grants available for scaling up health innovations

Thursday, November 13, 2025

The Healthy Society Program provides funding for the scaling up of proven effective health innovations. Each consortium can apply for €50,000 to deploy and scale up health solutions more broadly in the province of Zuid-Holland.

This was announced on Thursday, November 13th, during the Festival Gezond Verstand organized by the Province of Zuid-Holland. Registration for the grant program is open immediately and will last until December 15, 2025.

Broadening the deployment of successful projects

A successful project to get children more active, an initiative that combats loneliness among the elderly, or a healthcare innovation that makes home care much easier: every municipality or healthcare institution has successful innovation projects that demonstrably improve people's well-being and health.

"With the Healthy Society Program, we don't want to limit these innovations to one or a few municipalities or institutions, but rather accelerate their wider deployment. The Province of Zuid-Holland is providing funding for this," says Prof. Dr. Marieke Adriaanse, strategic representative of the Healthy Society Program. “This prevents municipalities and healthcare institutions from reinventing the wheel every time and promotes the sharing of successful health innovations, so that more people can quickly benefit from them.”

Project consortia consisting of a company, a knowledge institution and a healthcare, welfare or policy organization can jointly apply for a scale-up subsidy from the Healthy Society Program via this link.

Improving health and reducing health disparities

The Healthy Society Program is a collaboration between Leiden-Delft-Erasmus Universities, Medical Delta, and the province of Zuid-Holland. The program focuses on improving health and well-being among all segments of the population in Zuid-Holland and reducing health disparities.

For example, the Healthy Society Program is involved in the Delta Action Agenda, an initiative of the province of Zuid-Holland and Medical Delta. The Delta Action Agenda brings together existing initiatives, programs, and stakeholders from the social, healthcare, policy, and knowledge sectors to join forces.

The Healthy Society Program's grant program puts its money where its mouth is by accelerating and strengthening the challenge of making Zuid-Holland residents healthier.

A more healthy Zuid-Holland

The Healthy Society Program grant program was announced during the Gezond Verstand Festival, a gathering of the province of Zuid-Holland with the collaboration of Medical Delta.

The updated website gezondzuidholland.nl was also launched during this festival. This website features practical case studies, useful tools, advice, and inspiring stories for policymakers, innovators, scientists, and healthcare professionals. The Healthy Society Program grant program aligns with this, establishing a broader framework for a more healthy Zuid-Holland.
