Health~Holland funds the innovation program ‘WorkTech’

Friday, January 31, 2025
Health~Holland is funding the healthcare innovation program ‘WorkTech – Labor-Saving Innovations for Health and Care’ for one year. This program focuses on addressing workforce shortages in health, well-being, and care through labor-saving innovations and is led by Medical Delta, InnovationQuarter, and ZWconnect.

A total of €1.5 million is available for six public-private collaborations.

The sustainability of healthcare is under pressure, partly due to an increasing staff shortage. This calls for new ways of working. Technology and innovation can relieve healthcare staff – if applied correctly. The challenge lies precisely in that.

Further development based on practical needs

At WorkTech, the focus is therefore on the further development of existing technologies and innovations with the goal of sustainably implementing them in daily (healthcare) practice. Project consortia, consisting of at least one knowledge institution, a technology company, a healthcare organization, and/or a (representative organization of) end users with ties to South Holland, can submit joint project proposals. A key condition is that the proposals stem from the needs or knowledge requests of real-world practice.

WorkTech thus provides an important boost to the implementation of innovations that support the quality and accessibility of care with fewer staff. The aim of the healthcare innovation program is to relieve people working in health, care, and welfare, and to increase their job satisfaction.

The first round of funding starts immediately

The first funding round for projects is now open. The deadline for submitting a project idea is March 10, 2025. The full project application must be submitted by April 30, 2025.

More information, including details about the submission process, can be found at www.medicaldelta.nl/worktech.

The collaborative project is co-financed through the PPS allowance granted by Health~Holland, Top Sector Life Sciences & Health, to stimulate public-private partnerships.
