Juvoly Winner of Regional Preliminary Round of National Healthcare Innovation Award 2024

Wednesday, February 28, 2024

During the Medical Delta Café on February 27th, the Leiden-based company Juvoly was declared the winner of the South Holland preliminary round for the National Healthcare Innovation Award 2024. Juvoly will advance to the final of the National Healthcare Innovation Award 2024, taking place during the Health Valley event on March 21, 2024, in Nijmegen. The award ceremony will be held during the Zorg&ICT event on April 10, 2024, in Utrecht.

Juvoly QuickConsult translates conversations between primary healthcare providers and patients into text in real-time and summarizes it into a so-called 'SOEP report'. It also provides smart references to the correct pages of NHG.nl and FK.nl so that the healthcare provider no longer needs to search for them during the consultation. Additionally, it helps find and send the correct home doctor's page to the patient. Primary healthcare providers, such as general practitioners, can thus have more personalized conversations with patients: no longer behind a screen, but truly face-to-face. The rapid and accurate reporting saves the general practitioner administrative time.

The jury, consisting of Medical Delta professor prof. dr. ir. Jaap Harlaar, Lonneke Baas from InnovationQuarter, and former winner of the National Healthcare Innovation Award Filippo van Hellenberg Hubar from Wolk Heupairbag, was extremely impressed with the solution offered by Juvoly: "It is an innovative company that directly addresses and resolves an existing problem in healthcare," said jury chair Jaap Harlaar. "The solution they provide has organically evolved and is thus an exemplary case of co-creation between end-users and technicians."

The founders of Juvoly, Rotterdam-based general practitioner Maarten Timmers and Delft-based software engineer Thomas Kluiters, are eagerly heading into the national election for the Healthcare Innovation Award. "Recognition like this helps us move forward; it's additional evidence for our solution. We started from a healthcare demand and offer a concrete technological solution for healthcare. With that message, we will do our best to win the National Healthcare Innovation Award."

Green Healthcare Solution Chosen as Runner-Up

The three companies nominated by Medical Delta (Juvoly, Green Care Academy, and Smart Health) presented diverse solutions to current healthcare issues.

Green Care Academy, an educational platform for sustainable healthcare, was selected as the 'runner-up'. An independent jury will review the runners-up per region; the best runner-up will receive a wildcard for participation in the National Healthcare Innovation Award.

Green Care Academy provides independent, scientific information on sustainable healthcare. It does so through free lectures and e-learnings on YouTube and Green Team workshops - from theory to practice. Each activity is aimed at enabling participants to apply the knowledge directly in their workplace, thus contributing directly to a more sustainable healthcare system.

Smart Health is a platform for lifestyle improvement and thus a health technology partner for companies, municipalities, and regions focusing on prevention. To achieve a healthier lifestyle for as many people as possible, local (health) resources are pooled together. The product Smart Vital helps people take control of their lifestyle and health and links it to knowledge and advice from medical professionals. Thus, it is a health-tech tool that combines e-PMO, health tests, tailored advice, and a wide range of health professionals.
