Luc van der Laan Wins Award at International Liver Transplantation Society Congress

Medical Delta professor, Prof. Dr. Luc van der Laan, has won the 'ILTS Basic Science Established Investigator Award' for his extensive basic research on organ damage, bile duct complications, and viral reinfection following liver transplantation.

Van der Laan received the award at the International Liver Transplantation Society (ILTS) Congress in Houston. This is the largest liver transplantation conference, with over 1.600 participants from around the world.

Seven 'Rising Star' Awards

In recent years, Luc van der Laan's research team has won the 'ILTS Rising Star Award' seven times for some of the best-scored abstracts at the conference. Part of this research is included in the Medical Delta scientific program, Regenerative Medicine 4D: Generating complex tissues with stem cells and printing technology, of which Van der Laan is one of the Scientific Leaders.
