Marie Hoek new chair of Young Medical Delta

The board of Young Medical Delta has elected a new chair: Marie Hoek. Marie succeeds Amar Levens, who is stepping down from the youth branch of Medical Delta after eighteen months as chair.

Marie is a student in the Master's program in Biomedical Engineering at Delft University of Technology. Six months ago, she joined the board of Young Medical Delta, where she was responsible for event management. "I look forward to continuing to build Young Medical Delta in my new role as chair. I would also like to thank Amar for his dedication over the past few years and for establishing a strong foundation."

"It has been a tremendous honor to be part of the Young Medical Delta board for the past two years, including a year and a half as chair. The board is booming, with growing visibility, strong community building, and professionally organized events," says Amar Levens. "I am convinced that Young Medical Delta is in excellent hands with Marie."

Young Medical Delta plays a major part in inspiring young researchers and professionals to think outside the box, says Medical Delta chair Prof. Sanne de Vries. "Young Medical Delta's meetings and activities provide students and young professionals with an accessible introduction to each other and the possibilities of transdisciplinary collaboration. I wish Marie every success in her chairmanship."
