Minor ‘Co-creating a Healthy Society’ wins education award

Wednesday, January 28, 2026

The minor “Co-creating a Healthy Society” has won the 2025 education award from the Department of Health, Medical and Neuropsychology. Dr. Sandra Van Dijk accepted the award on behalf of the teaching team from Leiden University, Erasmus University Rotterdam, TU Delft, and Vitale Delta.

The interdisciplinary minor “Co-creating a Healthy Society” offers a dynamic and inspiring learning environment in which students can create societal impact. This year, for example, students are working on solutions for people experiencing homelessness, stress among Ukrainian displaced persons, and improved labour market participation for status holders with a background in healthcare. Students apply interdisciplinary knowledge directly in practice through co-creation with target groups and societal partners, optimally preparing them for a complex and constantly changing world.

Through this innovative and creative approach, in collaboration with Medical Delta and Leren met de Stad, the minor team has earned the education award as an inspiring example of excellent and socially relevant education.
