Overweight toddlers, loneliness among youth, and coping with a chronic illness are examples of real-life health and well-being challenges that are addressed in the minor 'Dynamics of a Healthy Society'.
The minor is part of the Healthy Society program of LDE Universities and Medical Delta. It provides students with skills and knowledge to analyze health and well-being problems. Students analyze a specific challenge from the perspective of psychology, public administration, and sociology and work together with societal partners in a 'learning by doing' approach to make an actual societal impact. This way, students learn to look beyond the boundaries of a scientific field and education.
"The launch of this new minor builds on the powerful collaboration and further contributes to the shared ambition to equip future professionals to develop interdisciplinary solutions for a healthy society and to reduce health disparities," says Dr. Sandra van Dijk, Scientific Coordinator of the Healthy Society Hub, about the collaboration with the various partners within this minor.
