Shaping the rehabilitation care of tomorrow, the Medical Delta National eHealth Living Lab (NeLL) and Medical Delta partner Basalt are setting up a 'Rehabilitation Hub'. Both parties are convinced that eHealth can make a valuable contribution to the rehabilitation of clients.
"eHealth can help us organise rehabilitation medicine drastically differently so that it becomes even better, more pleasant and more effective for our clients. In order to actually implement new digital applications in rehabilitation care, it is necessary to investigate in practice what works and what does not, and to link personal experience to thorough scientific research. NeLL and Basalt will focus on this together," said Willem Wiegersma, chairman of the Basalt board.
Within the NeLL network, Basalt is now the specialist in the field of medical rehabilitation care. This means that NeLL and the Basalt team work together intensively on applications, assignments and projects in which the rehabilitation process plays a central role."
Basalt is a forerunner in the use of eHealth and care technology in rehabilitation care. They focus on both the development of digital applications - testing, validating and optimising - and the implementation and evaluation of eHealth. The powerful thing is that Basalt involves relevant stakeholders in this, such as various Living Labs, a FieldLab and chain partners in the rehabilitant's own living environment. I am very much looking forward to this cooperation," says NeLL founder Prof. Dr. Niels Chavannes, one of the scientific leaders of the Medical Delta programme eHealth & selfmanagement for a healthy society.
NeLL works on the development of person-centred healthcare that is offered in the right place at the right price. To achieve this, NeLL facilitates scientific research into eHealth/ The knowledge acquired is actively shared in a network of national and international public and private organisations. The NeLL Hubs serve as a transfer platform. A Hub consists of a multidisciplinary team; in Basalt's case, these are experts in the field of rehabilitation medicine and themes such as implementation and change management.
