Anyone working in an operating room must be stress-resistant. One of the stress factors is the constantly changing work schedules. Surgeries can run longer than expected, unpredictable situations occur, and schedules change continuously. With technological innovations, it is increasingly possible to bring more calm and clarity to the workplace.
Medical Delta professor prof. dr. John van den Dobbelsteen (TU Delft, LUMC, Erasmus MC) spoke about this on BNR Beter. He is working on a digital assistant that, using cameras and AI technology, can predict whether and by how much a surgery will overrun.
