With seventeen new programs and eight new living labs, the Medical Delta programming for 2024-2028 officially began last month. Many scientific programs and living labs from the 2019-2024 programming will continue. At the same time, it is a great opportunity to reflect on the results that have been achieved so far.
‘Technologische oplossingen voor duurzame zorg’ was de belofte van ons wetenschappelijke programma 2019-2024. Vanuit vier Zuid-Hollandse hogescholen zijn vier gezamenlijke Medical Delta Living Labs opgezet.
The Medical Delta Living Labs from the 2019-2024 programming were tasked with accelerating innovations and bridging the gap between 'prototype' and 'practice' through, among other things, applied research. In 2020, four Medical Delta Living Labs were established from four universities of applied sciences in South Holland. They innovated in an environment that is directly connected to healthcare practice.
For example, Medical Delta Living Lab VIT for Life focused on developing and implementing accessible social and technological innovations to promote a healthy lifestyle and living environment.
The fitter a person is when starting a cancer treatment journey, the greater the chance of a successful recovery and fewer complications. Medical Delta Living Lab Better In Better Out focused on integrating and implementing health interventions, supported by e-health and other technologies, into care pathways for people with cancer. Medical Delta Living Lab Geriatric Rehabilitation@Home focused on the development of e-health applications to promote home rehabilitation for elderly individuals.
Finally, Medical Delta Living Lab Integrative Medicine Technology aimed to promote research into non-pharmacological, integrative prevention and treatment methods, such as the use of natural products or the development of a healthier lifestyle.
The results and collaborations from the 2019-2024 programming form the foundation for the new programs and living labs. An overview of these can be found here.
