Rosa van den Berg started as Innovation Manager at Medical Delta

Wednesday, March 30, 2022

Dr. Rosa van den Berg starts this month as Innovation Manager at Medical Delta, the partnership of five academic institutions and four universities of applied sciences in South-Holland. Van den Berg coordinates and supports several scientific programmes, among other things. Together with the team of innovation managers, she also focuses on promoting partnerships between researchers, healthcare organisations, the business community and government authorities, and on accelerating (technological) innovations in healthcare.

Van den Berg brings a broad experience in healthcare in both scientific research and practice. She did her PhD research at the LUMC, worked as a doctor on the floor at the Haaglanden Medical Centre and in the last two years, she has been the driving force behind sustainability in long-term care in the role of CSR programme manager for the Espria healthcare organisation. This passion and knowledge for the theme of sustainability is a nice addition to the Medical Delta team, because more and more initiatives are being undertaken within healthcare and therefore also within Medical Delta.

Magic from different expertises

"I believe that we are capable of coming up with innovative solutions for the major challenges in healthcare. Interdisciplinary cooperation is essential for this. In the coming years, I would like to use my broad experience to build bridges and work on this together with scientists, healthcare professionals, policy makers and entrepreneurs," says Van den Berg. "I like to make surprising connections. Expertise is wonderful. When different experts sit down together, magic happens. That is exactly what we need to build a sustainable healthcare system. I look forward to helping bring those different perspectives together."

"Rosa knows what is going on in healthcare practice. In combination with her scientific background, this makes her a great addition to our team of Innovation Managers," says David de Glint, Managing Director at Medical Delta. "I am sure that with this knowledge and experience and with her enthusiasm, she will contribute to the collaborations within Medical Delta."

Interdisciplinary cooperation

Medical Delta is an interdisciplinary cooperation of more than 350 scientists from Erasmus University, Erasmus MC, TU Delft, LUMC, Leiden University and four universities of applied sciences. Together with companies and governments, they work on technological solutions for healthcare. Medical Delta does this with fifteen interdisciplinary scientific programs and with practice-oriented field and living labs. A small and decisive office supports, facilitates and accelerates these programs, labs and collaborations. View the full team here.
