'Better healthcare thanks to Delft technology': TU Delft's University Fund drew attention to research in Delft that contributes to improving Dutch healthcare and making it future-proof. Alumni from Delft were invited to contribute to this research. And they did: more than 1,050 alumni made a financial contribution.

The campaign focused on seven Delft scientists and their research, including four Medical Delta professors and a scientific leader of one of Medical Delta's scientific programs. In their research they collaborate with leading medical institutes such as Erasmus MC and LUMC.

Closure at Medical Delta Conference

Approximately 30% of all TU Delft research is related to health and care. With the Tech for Health campaign, the University Fund informed and inspired over 60,000 Delft alumni. Over 1,050 alumni put their money where their mouth is and made a financial contribution. Together with the donors of the University Fund this resulted in the beautiful amount of € 175,364.

During the Medical Delta Conference 2021 Joop Heijenrath, treasurer of the board of the University Fund Delft, handed over the amount to Medical Delta professor Prof. Dr. Richard Goossens and David de Glint, director and board member of Medical Delta. They accepted the cheque on behalf of the seven scientists who were at the centre of the campaign.

More than a sum of money

The Tech for Health campaign has been successfully concluded. In addition to the donation proceeds and visibility for Delft research in the field of health, the campaign has also created beautiful connections between alumni and scientists. The campaign has also led to new contacts with a number of relevant companies and institutional funds.
