Leiden-Delft-Erasmus Universities and Medical Delta are launching the Thesis Lab on Global Women's Health this fall. In this Thesis Lab, master's students will tackle practical issues related to women's healthcare.
The Thesis Lab on Global Women's Health focuses on women's health in all stages of life - from maternal and child care to adult and elderly care. The Thesis Lab addresses health challenges in both resource-rich and resource-poor settings, with a particular focus on digitalization, (technical) innovation, and sustainability.
The Thesis Lab aims to contribute to improving women's healthcare and effectively translate these improvements into healthcare in resource-poor settings.
Research questions come from hospitals, NGOs, small and medium-sized enterprises, government agencies, healthcare organizations, and insurers, among others. The Thesis Lab links these practical issues to students' thesis topics. During their graduate studies, students receive guidance from the Thesis Lab and can participate in work visits and workshops.
Do you have a research question related to innovation and healthcare for women in resource-poor or resource-rich settings? Let a talented and ambitious master's student from Leiden, Delft, and Erasmus MC investigate your challenge in the Thesis Lab "Global Women's Health" 2025-2026.
Submit here (deadline: August 17, 2025)
Examples of topics include research into the impact of AI on cervical cancer screening in remote areas of the Global South, or the design of a training model for practicing challenging procedures.
