On Thursday 9 July, Young Medical Delta announced the winners of the Thesis Awards 2020. In the PhD Thesis category Jason Voorneveld (department of Biomedical Engineering, Thorax Center, Erasmus MC) won with his research on 'High Frame Rate Ultrasound Velocimetry of Fast Blood Flow Dynamics'.
John Wang (department of Medical Informatics, Erasmus MC) won with his research 'Gray Matter Age Prediction as a Biomarker for Risk of Dementia' in the Master Thesis category. The audience award was won with no less than 418 out of 1,024 votes by Andrada Velea (Bioelectronics group, TU Delft) for her research into 'Flexible Passive and Active Graphene-based Spinal Cord Implants'.

The jury, consisting of Prof. Irwin Reiss (Erasmus MC), Prof. Frank Willem Jansen (LUMC & TU Delft) and Dr. John van den Dobbelsteen (TU Delft), paid attention in the assessment to 'Impact & Viability', 'Innovation',' Human Centered Design' and 'Presentation'.
