A broad coalition of government agencies, health organizations, scientific institutes, companies, and partnerships published a joint action agenda for a healthier Zuid-Holland. This so-called ‘Delta Actie Agenda’ was introduced on Thursday, 13 November at the Festival Gezond Verstand in The Hague.
In this context, the Delta Actie Agenda was created, a joint movement of knowledge institutions, healthcare organizations, companies, and governments, initiated by Medical Delta and supported by the Province of Zuid‑Holland. The Delta Actie Agenda aims to connect existing and new initiatives. It brings together science, policy, and practice, so that research better aligns with practical needs, innovations are effectively implemented in healthcare, and collaboration becomes the norm instead of fragmentation.
“The Delta Actie Agenda is just the beginning. In the coming period, we will further develop it with partners from the region,” say Prof. Dr. Sanne de Vries, Chair of Medical Delta, and Mariëtte van Leeuwen, Deputy for Health and Wellbeing at the Province of Zuid‑Holland. “That is why we issue a joint call: join in. But above all: let’s make sure this remains a true action agenda. Not words, but deeds. Together, we make Zuid‑Holland healthier, more innovative, and more future-proof.”
Through the Healthy Society Programma, a joint initiative of Leiden-Delft-Erasmus Universities, Medical Delta, and the Province of Zuid-Holland, resources are being made available to scale up proven effective health solutions. This is done in collaboration with experts, developers, and (end) users to truly connect the parties involved and accelerate the implementation of innovations. The aim is to ensure that what works well in, for example, a municipality, neighborhood, or healthcare institution can be scaled up more quickly to other areas.
The website gezondzuidholland.nl has also been updated. It brings together scientific and practical knowledge, experts, tools, and inspiring examples from across Zuid-Holland as a starting point for healthy policy, action, and behavior.
In addition, suggestions such as “health in all policies and contracts” are being presented to policymakers, and existing partnerships and innovation clusters will actively explore opportunities for closer collaboration.
