Medical Delta Program 'Medical Delta as a learning community for transformation'

The complex social challenges we face today call for new directions and courses of action. New ways of collaboration are needed to ensure that our living environment is, becomes, and remains a healthy place, and that the healthcare system is sustainable for the future.

Although there is a great deal of innovation within healthcare, we also face the so-called 'pilot paradox.' Many initiatives have been tried, and much has been learned, but little has changed. It is also not a given that co-creation and transdisciplinary collaboration lead to social innovation. The Medical Delta Program 'Medical Delta as a learning community for transformation' helps the Medical Delta ecosystem learn from one another, strengthen and expand inter- and transdisciplinary collaboration. Additionally, the learning environment stimulates the implementation and change capacity of all partners in the Medical Delta ecosystem.

Showing, participating, doing it yourself

The learning environment follows the adage of 'showing, participating, doing it yourself' and provides structure to the programs and labs for learning through transdisciplinary collaboration, formulating practical questions, and creating impactful solutions. Actively involving and connecting the various programs and labs within the Medical Delta ecosystem forms the foundation of the learning environment.

Participation and co-creation are central. Experiential learning occurs through active participation and contributes to the sustainable implementation of the lessons learned, such as involving the end user, co-creation, and transdisciplinary collaboration.

Goals

The intended outcome of this program is a validated methodology for creating a learning environment that strengthens and expands inter- and transdisciplinary collaboration within the Medical Delta ecosystem. In this program, an existing methodology is applied to the Medical Delta ecosystem to create a flywheel effect, enhancing the implementation and change capacity of all partners, as well as the resulting scientific and societal impact. The program aims to achieve the following goals:

  • Identify which aspects contribute to increasing the implementation and change capacity of the Medical Delta ecosystem.
  • Establish a learning environment to facilitate mutual learning within the ecosystem.
  • Evaluate and validate an evidence-based methodology for co-creation and transdisciplinary collaboration in the Medical Delta ecosystem
