There are many initiatives and collaborations that help and activate researchers to support more sustainable healthcare and assist in bringing innovations to fruition in healthcare. Below is an overview of some of these:

General

• The Green Care Alliance (De Groene Zorg Alliantie) is the Dutch umbrella platform for all sustainable healthcare professionals. It unites the growing and diverse sustainable subspecialties, such as the Green Emergency Department (Groene SEH) and the Green Operating Room (Groene OK). The website provides links to the various specializations. The Green Care Alliance holds an annual Green Care Festival and releases a podcast.

• Environmental Platform for the Healthcare Sector (Milieu Platform Zorgsector) helps to make healthcare more sustainable by providing practical tools and a website full of examples, guides, and tips.

• Care for Climate (Zorg voor Klimaat) is a national network that focuses on the entire breadth of healthcare. It promotes collaboration within sustainable healthcare to increase knowledge and awareness of the relationship between climate and health, encourage healthcare providers to commit to more sustainable healthcare, and persuade policymakers to drive the transition towards a more environmentally friendly healthcare system.

• Green Care Academy shares short videos with basic knowledge about sustainable healthcare, as well as in-depth webinars. 
  
  
• Sustainable Hospital is a digital platform where sustainability researchers from TU Delft, Erasmus MC, and Erasmus University Rotterdam share their findings and projects related to greening healthcare.
  
  
• DiCE - Digital Health in the Circular Economy It is a European project focused on reducing e-waste in healthcare.

Green design and green research

• The national organization GreenLabsNL unites research laboratories focused on sustainability.

• 'LEAF' (the Laboratory Efficiency Assessment Framework) is a tool designed to systematically make your laboratory more sustainable.

Applied University Research in the Delta

• Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences has included sustainability as a program in its operations and education, and also works specifically on sustainable healthcare projects, including within the midwifery program.

Associations for knowledge institutions

• Climate Alliance is a central hub for universities that shares climate research with the public and facilitates more collaboration between research teams.
