Participate in groundbreaking research into mechanisms of cardiac arrhythmias using unique electrical signal recording and processing techniques. Desired background: informatics, experience with Python, C++ or similar.
1 FTE, depending on experience and in accordance with the collective labor agreement.
Your tasks consist of further developing and expanding of a software platform used to acquire and process data of heart rhythm registrations. This platform is mainly used during open heart surgeries, where we measure electrical signals directly on the surface of the heart. Our current platform is developed using Python and C++.
You will work in the translational electrophysiology research team, part of the cardiology department, collaborating with the cardiothoracic surgery department. The team consists of a permanent staff in addition to a large number of PhD students (physicians, engineers, clinical technologists/technical physicians, biologists). This transdisciplinary team conducts research into the mechanism of cardiac arrhythmias with the aim of improving the diagnosis and therapy of cardiac arrhythmias. This research department is characterized by a close-knit team working in an enthusiastic atmosphere.
For us, the software platform is not the goal but a tool to support our research. Therefore, we are looking for an enthusiastic and open-minded programmer with interest in learning beyond the codes. As we are constantly working and improving our understanding by our research outcomes, you need excellent communications skills and be able to interact with our scientists and clinicians to understand the constantly changing needs of the users of the software.
